-- How Do I? --
Installing SMB2
Storing client files on both Windows Server 2012 and 2008/2008r2 or just Windows Server 2008/2008r2, requires the patch on workstations running Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008/2008r2. For more information, see CaseKnowledge.
Procedure
- Clear the sync logs.
- Bring the file online and synchronize your data.
- Check for any new synchronization errors in the sync log.
Results
If you see new errors in the sync log, ensure the network connection is stable. Ping test the address of the location where the parent files are hosted. On an unstable network connection you will see timed out responses and/or high packet loss percentages. Run the Sync Stress tool, to confirm if there are network issues present.
Notes
- The SMB2 patch is not required when storing client files on Windows Server 2012.
